Business Summary: RBN Construction is a Tauranga-based building company providing new home builds, renovations, extensions, bathroom renovations, outdoor living spaces and project management for residential clients across Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty.
RBN CONSTRUCTION IS A SMALL, OWNER OPERATED BUILDING TEAM LED BY RYAN BENTLEY
Ryan quotes the work, stays involved on site and manages the trades, communication and project details from start to finish.
We work across Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Papamoa and surrounding areas on residential new builds, renovations and additions, recladding and bespoke decks and outdoor living areas.
The approach is simple: clear pricing, straight answers, tidy sites and a team that treats your home with respect.

A YOUNG BUILDING COMPANY WITH NEARLY 15 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE BEHIND IT
Ryan went straight into a building apprenticeship after school and was already running smaller jobs and organising subtrades by his third year.
After qualifying, he moved into construction management and spent several years running larger commercial projects in Tauranga. That experience shaped the way RBN works today, with detailed quoting, organised programmes and important conversations followed up in writing.
Ryan started RBN Construction in 2022 and has kept the team deliberately small and close knit, with support from trusted contractors when a project needs additional hands. Ryan is also a BCITO trainer and helps bring his own apprentices through to qualification.

CERTIFIED BUILDERS WITH THE STANDARDS TO MATCH
Ryan is a Licensed Building Practitioner and a member of New Zealand Certified Builders.
Qualifying new work can also be covered by the NZ Certified Builders Halo Guarantee, subject to the applicable guarantee terms and eligibility.
RBN also puts a lot of emphasis on how the team presents itself on site. The crew is professional, respectful of clients’ homes and careful to keep work areas tidy and well managed throughout the project.
Behind the scenes, Ryan’s commercial construction background brings a structured approach to project communication and coordination. Subtrades, inspections and reporting are managed through one main point of contact, with important decisions recorded clearly as the work progresses.
STRAIGHT TALKING FROM THE QUOTE ONWARDS
RBN’s quotes are deliberately detailed. Materials and individual tasks are itemised so you can see where your budget is going rather than receiving one figure for labour and another for materials.
Where fixed pricing is possible, that is agreed upfront. If something changes, the variation is discussed and priced before the additional work proceeds. Ryan would rather help you change a product, adjust the scope or find a better value option than quietly cut the standard of the work.
That same approach carries through the project. Quick questions can be handled by phone, while important conversations are followed up in writing so both sides have a clear record.
